A CARE home in Ascot will be giving a nod to Her Majesty the Queen during a special open day later this month.

In celebration of Care Home Open Day, and to toast the Queen's 92nd birthday, the residents and staff of Larkland House care home, in London Road, will be opening their doors to members of the public to join their family-friendly event.

A royal-inspired party will be on offer to guests, featuring home-made crowns, a special dog show with awards for the 'king and queen', and a performance of wartime classics by the Swingtime Sweethearts.

The celebrations will be rounded off with a delicious afternoon tea.

Home manager, Shawnwell Barker said: "At Larkland House, we’re always looking for ways to get to know our neighbours better and build relationships with the local community. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of bringing all age generations together for a fun-filled day, showcasing all that the home has to offer.

“We look forward to welcoming the people of Ascot for what promises to be another fantastic open day.”

The open day takes place on Friday, April 20 between 11.30am and 4pm.
