A WOMAN from Ascot who was charged with sending abusive texts to her friend has had the charges against her dropped.

Jemma Keys, 32, a former Hollyoaks actress, was accused of sending the messages to her former friend Lucie Rose, 30, who had allegedly slept with Miss Keys' father, former Sky Sports presenter Richard Keys.

She was due to stand trial at Stratford Magistrates' Court on Thursday, March 22, but prosecutors discontinued the case after a CPS review of the evidence.

It is claimed Miss Rose had a fling with Mr Keys, 60, who resigned from Sky in 2011 over a sexism row, after he divorced his wife Julia, who had cancer at the time.

Miss Keys was said to have "pursued a course of conduct which amounted to the harassment of Lucie, a person known to you, and which you knew or ought to have known amounted to the harassment of her".
She had previously denied the charge.

Speaking outside the court, prosecutor Ghulam Humayun said: “The Crown Prosecution Service have reviewed it and it has been discontinued.”

The reason for dropping the case was not given.
