Learning to be a stand up comedian is not something most people would include in their new year resolutions.

But it is one of the 'recreational' courses being offered by the Windsor Forest Colleges Group in 2018. Others include knitting, sewing and tiling, as well as digital photography, Spanish and British Sign Language.

The courses start early this year at Langley College, Windsor College and Strode’s College in Egham.

Of course the colleges also offer a wide range of more practical courses for people hoping to begin careers or adds to their qualifications.

Juliet Holloway, who is assistant principal for marketing and business development with the colleges, said: "It’s never too late to learn something new. We have students aged from 15 to 87 years old. With our part-time courses, people can learn at a pace that suits their lifestyle or work commitments."

The colleges are also launching a new Skills 4 Careers course for 16 to 18-year-olds, designed to provide a first step towards a career and the chance to try a range of practical subjects.

Windsor Forest Colleges Group was formed in 2017 following a merger between East Berkshire College and Strode’s College in Egham.
