Talented artists from ACS Egham International School presented their best works to friends and family at the annual International Baccalaureate (IB) art exhibition.

The exhibiting students, aged 17 to 18, have spent the last two years building a portfolio at the school in London Road.

As part of the course, students complete open-ended assignments designed to stimulate their individual artistic flair and to work with themes and ideas significant to them. The final exhibition held last Wednesday was a culmination of the course and an opportunity for the student artists to showcase, curate and reflect on their best artwork.

Student Suzanne Lambeek produced a body of work inspired by the human form, identity and a sense of place. From expressive landscape paintings and self-portraits to photographic collage, Suzanne curated her artworks considering shapes, light and shadow.

Natalie Kearney’s exhibition challenged traditional and conventional depictions of youth and womanhood, using different media including painting and photography to create an ethereal showcase project.

The art exhibition was part of the students’ final exam, as photos of their artwork and workbook pages were submitted to the moderators of the IB for assessment.
