SAVING the world was the order of the day at Charters School last week as Year 8 and Year 9 students rose to the challenge of tackling issues of national and international importance.
Potential High Achievers in these years were tasked with delivering group presentations with the brief: 'Identify a problem in the world and then explain a way of solving it.'
The pupils responded with themes including American gun control, body image, eco-friendly plane travel and independence in teenagers.
They researched and then presented their solutions to a judging panel including the co-headteachers and Roz Louth from National Health England.
Steve Metson, in charge of the Potential High Achievers team, said: "I was hugely impressed with how the students engaged with this challenging project.
"Every group showed flair, creativity and teamwork, with an ability to offer innovative solutions to a variety of problems in the world."
