The Sunflower Walk in aid of Windsor's hospice is all set for May.

The annual event is taking place on Saturday, May 21 this year beginning at Virginia Water. It offers the chance to do a 4k, 6.5k and 13k walk beginning at the famous lake and taking in such glories in the Great Park as the Copper Horse statue and the 100ft totem pole.

There will be cartoon characters joining in and plenty of entertainment for the children.

Alison Evans, who is community and events fundraising manager at Thames Hospice, in Hatch Lane, Windsor, said: “The walks are suitable for all ages and children will love searching for their favourite cartoon characters. Why not make a day of it and bring a picnic? All the while you’ll be helping us raise much-needed funds so we can continue the vital work we do in your community.”

Once again, there will be the chance for families to remember their loved ones by placing a message on the Memory Tree. The person who raises the highest sponsorship total will win a special edition Star Wars Battlefront Playstation PS4, donated by a Thames Hospice supporter.
