RESIDENTS in Ascot and the Sunnings are invited to vote on how they want £25,000 of council money to be spent in the area.

The Royal Borough has set aside a total of £225,000 to be spent in the community, with £100,000 dedicated to borough-wide schemes, £50,000 each for Windsor and Maidenhead projects and the remaining £25,000 is to be used in Ascot and the Sunnings.

Cllr Claire Stretton, principal member for culture and communities, said: “Thanks to all of you who took part in the Participatory Budget process last year. Your feedback helped us to direct money to the projects which matter most to you.

“This is your chance to decide how we spend this money for this year. Whether online or by filling in our postal form, please let us know.”

Each year the council puts aside funding and asks for residents opinions on where it should be spent and on what.

This year the scheme ideas for the whole borough include facilities/activities for older people and young people, tree and flower bed planting throughout the borough, road and pavement repairs, traffic congestion reduction, improved facilities for cyclists, street cleaning and litter removal and improved parking for residents.

The suggestions for Ascot and the Sunnings are events in Ascot and the Sunnings, a Skate park in Broomhall Recreation Ground, a community event called pride in Ascot , a landscaping project to open up the front view of Nell Gwynne Gardens in Sunninghill, additional formal paths and board walks in Allens Field and road and pavement repairs.

Councillors will consider the outcome of the vote and the money will be allocated during the summer.
