TODDLERS and their parents sold macaroons donated by a contestant who took part in the Great British Bake Off (GBBO) 2015.
The young bakers and their parents were taking part in a bake sale organised at the Forest Lodge Day Nursery, which is based in the grounds of Heatherwood Hospital, Ascot.
The macaroons were dubbed the “Amazing Alvins” after GBBO contestant Alvin Magallanes, who has a child at the nursery and generously donated the creations to help boost sales.
The Amazing Alvins were sold alongside pumpkin pie, chocolate truffles, savoury twists and assorted cakes and biscuits made by the children, with a little bit of culinary help from the nursery staff.
Nursery manager Nadine Le Good said the event had raised £90 which will be donated to Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, London – the children’s hospital which is the UK’s largest paediatric centre for many services The charitable bake sale was held at the nursery on Monday, October 19.
