A MOTHER died in the grounds of a school after being run over by a car last week.
The woman died at the scene of the crash in a car park at Sunningdale Boys School, in Dry Arch Road, Sunningdale. at around 7.50pm on Thursday last week.
She had been attending a bonfire night and firework evening celebration at the school where her son is a pupil when she was hit by a blue Ford Galaxy as those attended the evening made their way home
Tom Buchanan, a spokesman for the boarding school, said: “Sunningdale confirms that on the evening of the November 5, 2015, a vehicle accident occurred at the school which has resulted in the death of a parent.
“Investigations into the accident are continuing and we cannot comment further at this time.
“This is a tragedy for the family concerned and a very difficult time for the whole school community.
“We request that the privacy of all our pupils is respected as they come to terms with what has happened.”
The woman has since been identified as Sun Zhou, 50, of Ascot. She is survived by her husband and two sons.
Thames Valley Police is investigating the incident and is appealing for anyone with information to come forward to help their investigations.
Senior investigating officer sergeant Graeme Hughes, said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident which took place on a night when the school was holding Bonfire Night celebrations.
“If you have not already spoken to officers please do so as soon as possible as you may have information which could assist the ongoing investigation.”
The boys boarding school teaches pupils aged seven to 13 and boasts famous alumni including Prince Michael of Kent and Bamber Gascoigne. The independent primary school has around 100 students.
