FAMILIES at ACS Egham International School laced up their running shoes to raise money for StreetInvest.

Students, parents and staff at ACS Egham joined together to take part in a 5km fun run around the school’s Cross Country team course, which stretches around the green fields and trees that surround the campus and the neighbouring Crown Estate.

During the event on Saturday, September 12, organised by the school’s Parent Teacher Organisation (PTO) runners and spectators donated money to StreetInvest, a charity that works to improves the rights and welfare of street children across the world.

Joanna Maier, ACS Egham PTO service co-ordinator, said:, “Everyone had a wonderful day catching up with old friends and meeting new families that have joined the school.

“A big thank you to everyone that helped raise £500 for StreetInvest, we are delighted to be supporting such a worthwhile cause.”

Participants in the Fun Run also got the chance to test their speed with the fastest adult male and adult female being awarded a prize at the end of the race. Noud Gietelink and Taryn Lee, who attend ACS Egham in grades seven and two, respectively won the fastest boy and girl award with Noud being named the overall winner of the race.
