A NEW retirement village has already extended its care facilities to nearby residents ahead of its completion.

Neighbours living within a five-mile radius of Lynwood Village, the new complex in Rise Road, Sunninghill, are now able to access the charity’s care options with the launch of its Home Care Service.

Carol Mayers, home care manager, said: “We know for a fact that good quality care improves quality of life, health and wellbeing.

“We have a long history of excellent care, which is already available to residents of Lynwood Village and Care Centre but, as a charity, we thought we could benefit more people by offering our services more widely.

“Our care teams will be based at Lynwood Village; permanent employees who are trained to the same level as our care centre teams but delivering high quality, compassionate care to people in their own homes in the local area.”

Lynwood Home Care will offer a wide range of care including helping getting in and out of bed to assistance with washing, dressing and daily domestic tasks through to overnight care.

Its carers can also support people with early-stage dementia, help plan menus to ensure clients are receiving adequate nutrition, help maintain social contact, plan budgets and help pay bills, attend medical appointments and accompany them on holidays or day trips.

Mrs Mayers added: “We tailor our care to ensure we deliver exactly what each client wants, there’s no one size fits all.”

Lynwood Village, Care Centre and Home Care Service are owned and operated by BEN, the automotive industry charity.
