ASCOT’S very own Great British Bake Off star Martha Collison is calling on people to bake in support of a charity campaign.

Martha, a fan favourite in last year’s BBC1 show, is calling on the nation’s bakers to get baking to help raise money for Tearfund’s No Child Taken campaign to help protect children from trafficking.

She said: “This is a brilliant opportunity to use our baking to express our faith and help others.”

To support the campaign, Martha is suggesting people hold Big Bake tournaments, bake sales and other cake-themed events.

To make even more of an impact, bakers can hold their event in the week running up to Anti-Slavery Day on Sunday, October 18.

James Clee won Tearfund’s staff baking tournament with one of his signature bakes, Chocolate and Honeycomb Cupcakes. He said: “The tournament challenged me to try out lots of new recipes and I got to meet people at Tearfund who I’d never talked to before.”
