A SPECIAL reception was held for Magna Carta Ambassadors who volunteered their time to help support the 800th anniversary events.
Runnymede Borough Council held a special reception, hosted by the Mayor of Runnymede, Cllr Derek Cotty, on July 14, to thank the Runnymede Magna Carta Ambassadors who volunteered their time to help support the Magna Carta 800th River Relay and Pageant events.
Each Ambassador was individually presented with an appreciation certificate and a Runnymede Magna Carta coin which had been donated by Runnymede Magna Carta Legacy.
The mayor cllr Cotty said: βIn total 76 Runnymede Ambassadors helped to ensure that the celebrations to mark the 800th anniversary of the sealing of Magna Carta ran smoothly, as a result thousands of residents and visitors to the Borough enjoyed a day like no other.
"I would sincerely like to thank everyone who made this a memorable occasion.β
