A TEENAGER from Ascot battled to victory at a regatta’s rowing contest.
Tom Reid, a pupil at LVS Ascot, stormed to glory in the individual rowing contest at Kingston Borough Regatta on Sunday, July 19.
The 14 year old is a member of the school’s boat club and defeated opponents from Weybridge, Barn Elms and Molesey Rowing Clubs to win the trophy.
He also beat the reigning National Schools Champion from Walton Rowing Club in the final.
Tom Wilkinson, the head of rowing at the school, said: “We are so pleased for Tom that his hard work and dedication have been rewarded with this success. It has been a busy time for LVS Ascot’s rowing club, as we have raced every weekend in July including Molesey this weekend and Staines Regatta to come. Events like these make all the practice worth it.”
